Everyone knows George Orwell or Aldous Huxley. Their works are considered to be the staples of dystopia stories.
But are they?
Most of the people know Octavia E. Butler or Margaret Atwood. They showed the feminine side of dystopia. But this subgenre of science fiction have much more to offer.
Yes, you find here all the famous ladies too but I'll do my best to find even more. So I hope the fellow Boundlings will help too💗

Ooh, this is a great list!
Ahhhhh I love this! It fits my apoc/zombie books not written by cis men lists so, so well, and I'll definitely be following and delving into this some! Probably be back with some reccs, if you want them, too!

Would be great! That's the list to expand and I admit, I don't mind it to keep it broad - from serious and artistic to the ones for pure entertaiment.
So I had a shelf with dystopians not written by cis men that I was gonna make a list like this for at some point, to go with my others, but you have such a great list here that I'm absolutely not going to put my own up too! So I'll just give you the link to the shelf, which I've renamed for ya. Have at it!!
Hmm, ok, this link isn't actually opening the list for me, but my library with the shelf highlighted You can see it by scrolling down the page to lists/dystopia by women (reccs for you)
There's a few on my list that are already here, but quite a lot of others, I think! Super happy this list exists and that I can follow it! 🎉
