Percy Jackson isn't expecting freshman orientation to be any fun. But when a mysterious mortal acquaintance appears at his potential new school, followed by demon cheerleaders, things quickly move from bad to worse. In this fourth installment of the blockbuster series, time is running out as war between the Olympians and the evil Titan lord Kronos draws near. Even the safe haven of Camp Half-Blood grows more vulnerable by the minute as Kronos's army prepares to invade its once impenetrable borders. To stop the invasion, Percy and his demigod friends must set out on a quest through the Labyrinth - a sprawling underground world with stunning surprises at every turn.

The Battle of the Labyrinth was definitely my favorite book so far.

Not only was it intense and more grown up, but the action and adventure were definitely hyped. I was actually scared to read on after certain chapters because my imagination was going wild!

So we get to meet new people and see a lot of new places in America because of the Labyrinth. I wish it actually existed so I could like, take an easy way to the other side of the country. Minus the monsters and scary shit.

Percy, Annabeth, Tyson, and Grover enter the Labyrinth through Zeus's Fist at Camp Half-Blood, which oh no, that's how Luke is going to enter the camp and destroy it! But first he has to get off that stupid cruise ship. Definitely my least favorite thing about this series was the cruise ship. Anyway.

Everyone kind of has their own reasons for going into the maze. And everyone succeeds. I'm so glad Grover found Pan and Annabeth found Daedalus / Quintus, which I did NOT at all see coming...although I probably should have but whatever.

I'm glad she gets to oversee his future inventions.

I did not like the ranch part. I think that's because I didn't quite understand the purpose of it. There was always one part in every book that I didn't quite get or see how it contributed to the story. And little things, like "paying Percy's way for safe passage" were just written and not touched upon, and like I'm going to remember that later in the book.

I'm glad Percy got to keep Mrs. O'Leary.

Luke is now Kronos. Did not see that one coming either. So many surprises!

How about Nico di Angelo is a super creeper. His parts in the book really sketched me out. Those passages were part of the reason I was scared at points to turn the page and continue.

Sad: Calypso and her story. Percy got to see her in Ogygia, but I HATED that he would never be able to see her again due to reasons. STUPID REASONS. I HATE EVERYTHING

Also, with all of the traveling through the maze, I wish there were a bit more detail. I know that there is a lot of detail already...but I'm a detail-oriented person. I would love to know the color of that man's shirt. So, especially with the descriptions of the inside of the maze and the battles I would have liked to see more.

We get to travel to so many different places and experience a lot of plot twists, which I do love. I enjoy when books can get me to audibly gasp. The Battle of the Labyrinth definitely made me do that more than once.
