A non-exhaustive list of magical middle grade alternatives to the series which shall not be named. Only the first book of those that are part of a series is listed so as not to overwhelm. This will grow as more alternatives are found / published.

This is a list of books for kids who need something to read! It ranges from 6-12 and included in here are all sorts of genres! Recommendations welcome. 😊( When there are series included on here, only the first book is added, this is the same for all my lists).

Intended audience ages 8-15ish but it's so good and comforting for any age ☺️

These are all either books that are the first in their series or work as a standalone book

Healing my inner child

middle grade and young adult

i love this story to death, so here’s a wip list about it. taking suggestions.

brothers grimm and other fairytale retellings, fatalism, themes of freedom and choice, teen-young adult audience, fantasy modernism, etc.

Have you ever found yourself wondering what would happen if one day, you all of a sudden ended up inside of a fairytale? Think, tripping and falling into a book. This list consists of books where the characters quite literally did happen to fall face first into one, or where it simply gives one a similar feeling world building-wise 💌🧚🏼‍♀️

Books in which the characters 'go into' real, physical objects in their own world to get to another world/universe. It has to be objects that are not usually meant to 'transport' you, like vehicles or doorways.

✅ The Land of Stories: The characters have to 'go into' a book to get to the Land of Stories. ❌ Harry Potter: The characters take a train to another location within their own world. ❌ Coraline: The characters go through a secret door to get to the other world.

Recs always welcome!
