So creative!!
thank you! 🥰 I'm open to any other boom suggestions that fit in this list
I know the author has fallen from grace, but Coraline would fit well here.
Also The Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland, and I wanna say James and the Giant Peach (it's been decades since I've read it).
I'll come back if I think of some more.
I'm not currently listing any authors with ongoing controversy for obvious reasons (Harry Potter is another choice, but I'm done with Rowling). I did had a back and forth in my head on adding the Chronicles of Narnia.
Thanq for the other three, I'll add them!
I'm sat! I LOVE THIS LIST, I NEED TO READ AND REREAD ALL THE BOOK HERE!!🤠edit: have you ever read Fairy Oak? I think it could fit the list 🤔
Omg thank you for browsing and have fun with the (re) reads! I haven't heard of Fairy Oak but I'll add it. I want to expand this list to as many books as I can, especially lgbtq+/bipoc ones. Thanks for the rec!
Ooh I have a rec for this one, from my own childhood! Spellfall by Katherine Roberts (linked to PB page) – a normal teen/preteen girl discovers that she has ties to a parallel magical world. It has a really unique magic system, and while I don't necessarily that it holds up for a new grown-up reader (though it might? I wouldn't know, I first read and loved it as a small child so it's full of nostalgia for me) I do think it fits the thesis of this list!
Thanq for the rec, I've added to the list! Mine is completely mixed with different types of books, I think two of them are even aimed for adult readers (The Book of Lost Things and The Fifth Season). As long as we follow a child enter a magical world, or the reader gets nostalgic at exploring a world as if they're a child with wonders again, I'll include it.
You're welcome! I'm always excited to realise I have a book I can rec for someone's niche list lol
