Master Fantasy and Romantasy List
I'm sure some of these are already on your TBR, so might as well add some more! Let me know if I am missing any of your favorites!

Abolish men
I'm quite experienced in the man-hating field. These books made me hate men more than I already did.

Speculative Trans (+nonbinary) Works
Works in the speculative, fantasy, science fiction, and horror genres by authors who are not cisgender! Two spirit, nonbinary, trans, genderfluid, and other gender diverse authors count!

Faeries
Books that include faeries, whether whimsical or scary
Let me know if you have any recommendations to add to this list!

Whimsical Fantasy But Dark
Have you ever wanted a fantasy book with whimsy, but dark? More gothic and twisted and creepy? Then you've come to the right place! Open to recs.

Do you like angry women? Same.
What the title said.

The World Is Hell But They Aren't
This is a list for those of you that love dark fantasy (dying gods, monsters in the woods, that kind of thing), but you also have a soft side for softies. These books still have that grim atmosphere, but they also have characters who are green flags. Someone who asks permission, protects without smothering, or just does the right thing when no one else will.

fantasy books with yearning
we love a man who yearns in this house

mod-goth (modern gothic novels)
We all love gothic classics, but what is new when it comes to the gothic genre (from the last 20 years or so)?! For fans of Dracula, Jane Eyre, Frankenstein, We Have Always Lived in the Castle, etc. Please comment with suggestions to add!

Two and Through
Duologies. Duologies! A list full of duologies. This has a collection of titles I'm interested in and some recommended to me. To save you the trouble, I made sure to put both books in a duology in this list. Enjoy! ๐

Seaside Gothic
Inspired by the sea fog, whistling winds, and the dark sea crashing against the rocks in summer

hozier branded
feminine rage, (mostly sapphic) yearning and general vibes that would make hozier, mitski and florence + the machine proud. inspired by the amazing mimi_reads & astraios! suggestions welcome<3

Disabled but not Broken โจ
Disabled People donโt exist to Inspire Others.
If you want some book recommendations with disabled folks that just exist (without that inspirational suffering or being portrayed as a hero) - this is your list ๐คญ๐

Stories about Stories
This list is for stories about stories, including the more obvious "books-about-books", but also books about who gets to tell stories, what versions of stories become "truth", and other story-based themes. *While not intended to be strictly fantasy, this list does lean heavily into this genre due to my personal reading tastes. **Suggestions welcome!

fantasy mysteries (the not-murder edition!)
From crimes and heists to quests and testsโฆ Here are some mysterious fantasy books that donโt revolve around murder! The โmysteryโ may be central to the plot, or may be a sprinkle of intrigue on the side. Have fun and get solving!!
This is to accompany my โfantasy whodunnit !โ list, which is, indeed, more murder-centric.

Neurodivergent genre hoppers
Books with neurodivergent MCs across various genres so you can find them in your favorite one.
Neurodivergent rep here includes autism, adhd, ocd or dyslexia. In addition the term neurodivergent also includes anyone whoโs neurological processing works in a way that isnโt considered typical; such as various personality disorders, other sensory issues and depending on who you ask also depression, ptsd, and more. Iโve included all here when I find them.

Historical Fiction with a Touch of Fantasy
Historical fiction with magic, whether a lot or a little. I've mainly included books set in the 19th century to the early 20th. Some don't specify what year they're set in but have the 'vibes' of that era.
First book in a series counts as the entire series.

Inspired by Wales / Welsh folklore ๐๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ชพ
As the name of the list suggests, these are books inspired by Welsh / Wales folklore, myths, history, etc. Absolutely open to recommendations!
(As this is very niche, I may end up expanding it to include Scottish and Celtic folklore as well, but for now we'll start with Welsh.)

Gothic Romantasy
Kinda spooky, probably dark and super atmospheric. May include: lady knights, academia settings, broody MMCs, haunted castles/manors, candelabras or gargoyles (BARTHOLOMEW!!)

When the Fit Check Doesnโt Lie
Books that are just as good as the cover promises. AKA: Fantastic book covers that also happen to be fantastic books! List will be added to in the future because I canโt leave well enough alone. (Suggestions welcome, leave it in the comments.)
