I could be wrong, but I don't think V.E. Schwab is trans/NB? She's gay, but I don't think trans.

1

Nope! They use she/they pronouns and wrote a whole article about coming out as nonbinary: https://www.oprahdaily.com/life/a34100214/ve-schwab-coming-out-story/

1

Oh, thank you!!

2

I hadn't realized this either, so big thanks!

2

Thanks so much for these! I'll start adding them this evening.

Pray For Him's on there, but I don't think I have any of the others yet!

2

Donnnnne. There were a couple that don't seem to be on Pagebound yet, but almost everything was!

1

LANTERN by Burgundy Athena Pendragon fits the bill :) Both a non-binary author and a non-binary MC who even uses neo-pronouns

2

Awesome! Thanks so much!

Please feel free to suggest books (self-recs welcome)!

Also, for the purposes of this list, trans, nonbinary, two spirit, gender fluid (and more!) count. If someone's not cis, they count. (:

I feel like a few Alex Nonymous books might fit this list. They're nonbinary and write a lot of books with nonbinary characters. Out of her books I've already read "Witches, Wings and Fluttering Things", "Debate Kids at the End of the World" and "A Tale of Hijinks & Honeydew" come to mind.

2

Ooo! They sound perfect (and also like someone whose work I'd enjoy).

Thanks so much--I'll add them to the list!

2

Oh also Lakelore by Anna-Marie McLemore (magical realism with two nonbinary protagonists, the author is nonbinary and bigender) would probably fit. As a side note: Unless I'm misremembering Dear Blake doesn't really have any speculative fiction elements but it's been a minute since I read that one

2

Thanks for the heads-up RE Dear Blake! I'll see if I can figure out how to remove a book, haha. I'll add Lakelore. (:

2

I appreciate this list! There's a lot of books on here that I've either read already or have been meaning to check out but I'm especially excited about the ones I had not heard of yet.

Yay!!! Glad it's helpful! I feel bad because I know I'm missing a ton of work still, but it turns out it's a lot of work to gather everything together (and a lot of indie stuff is still missing from pagebound, so there are definite gaps).
