Fantasy inspired by Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Albania, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, and/or Russia (myths, setting, etc.) Will also be including Slavic inspired fantasy books here as well.

Stories featuring queer, polyam main characters! Mostly adult books, but contains some YA as well. Although the book doesn't have to have a heavy romantic focus, the polyam rep must be in the MCs, not in side characters. 🫶 (Note: some books in this list are series starters that don't contain polyamory until after the first book!)

books that feature an animal (real & fantastical alike) as a side character, companion, or a pet!

Stories to read curled up warm and cosy while the weather is grey and stormy, blustery and bleak. Or. just when you want a fantasy that’s both dark and cozy!

Novels with throuples, polycules, best found family romance vibes

books that feel like watching a studio ghibli film 🌱 ₊˚✧ ﾟ.

whimsical, meadowy, fantastical reads inspired by a @notbillnye comment on/description of Nettle by Bex Hogan

Book about or by authors from Slavic countries that aren't Russia!

I love reading romances between men and women where one or both of the characters are bi because it shows the potential of bi people to fall in love with any gender, if that makes sense. So often bi people in “straight” relationships don’t get clocked as LGBTQ+ and I like seeing how they make a “straight” relationship queer. It’s also nice to read about LGBTQ+ outside of achillian and sapphic stories and spaces. I’m always on the hunt for more.

a mix of romance and romance-adjacent books starring bisexual main characters.

Beautiful books for when your monthly reading roundup needs a little facelift 😉

musings on home, and characters yearning to belong, whether they know it or not. (includes conversations on identity and family/chosen family.)

Want to get into fantasy but never read/only read a bit and don't want to read anything too complex? These books and series have light worldbuilding, magic systems, and are overall good introductions to those new to fantasy. The majority of these are more YA due to the nature of entry-level fantasy

If we are going to do Qwordy's the Hardest Reading Challenge You'll Ever Do 3.0 - we should probably get some Pagebound badges along the way! I'm specifically going to be adding books from Quests and readalongs that I think matches at least one of these cover prompts: craft, food, motion, biomes/landscapes, animals, weather.

Mmf or true triangle mmf books, fantasy lean

From crimes and heists to quests and tests… Here are some mysterious fantasy books that don’t revolve around murder! The “mystery” may be central to the plot, or may be a sprinkle of intrigue on the side. Have fun and get solving!!

This is to accompany my “fantasy whodunnit !” list, which is, indeed, more murder-centric.
