Hey, love the list! Which one would you recommend first? I have only read Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries.

Oooh what a good question. What did u thing of the book? What kind of stuff do u like in books? The Emily Mccosh book inspired this list, so you could start there! Plus, also fae x human relationships like Emily Wilde.

But Thea Hawthorne’s books are on the shorter side and very cosy, gentle, domestic. They’re all in the same world, so that’s cool too. So this might be a nice, easy start?

This Fatal Kiss is more fun id say (?) if you want something of that vibe. All these ive mentioned here have been faves of this year!

I thought Emily Wilde’s was an okay book. I liked the atmosphere the most. I found the pacing a bit clunky, but the characters were enjoyable. I guess I tend to prefer books that are the opposite of yours, darker and more reflective, but even so, I loved the concept of your list. Thanks for taking the time to explain each of them. I’ll see what mood I’m in after I finish my current read; maybe I’ll give the fae another try with Emily McCosh’s book. Thanks again. 🤗

That’s so fair! If it helps, I really enjoy the atmosphere in The Hawthorne’s books and I have two other lists u might be interested in. One called darkly cosy fantasy, where there’s a nice mix of lightness/cosiness and darkness or depth, and one called cold and deadly, dark and sweet, which is for darker fairytale books!

If u read the Emily McCosh one, I’m excited for your thoughts!! The romance is very sweet and gentle and overall the world is too, but there’s a definite tension, depth and a little darkness alongside it too!

Sounds amazing! I’ll definitely keep you updated. I’m going to check out those lists now, you’ve made me curious.🤭

I just finished reading My Thorns for Your Roses and rushed to recommend it to this list because the romance is really sweet and gentle!
