In honor of PB’s birthday (Aug 13, I've been told)! I welcome everyone to leave a book + their explanation for why they feel it embodies PB energy in the comments; there’s no right or wrong answer, I would love to see everyone's perspectives!

Fiction & nonfiction books that explore the complexities and traumas of mother-child relationships or in which such relationships play a central role. While many books on this list are what I’d classify as including “mommy issues” there are others that are more about the different perspectives and nuances of the mother-child (often specifically mother-daughter) relationship. Some books center the child, some the mother, some both.

Books in this list are in at least two quests. Thus helping to earn more badges. Books will span different genres. Once I scan through all the quests, I plan to further organize the list. I am thinking of creating a seperate list and moving the books with three or more quests to the new list and keeping the two badge books in this list. Enter this list, a collection of books from various genres that don’t require too much brain power but are still GOOD. Accessible prose, storylines that aren’t overly convoluted, and often short chapters or frequent break points. And of course, easy to pick back up after dozing off!

my favorite genre! the grit of the everyday alongside the possibility for something more, a veil thinning, serendipity bending reality to its whimsy and beauty. this is a smaller list due the brittle nature of the genre. it's up to interpretation, but i like my magical realism on the more realistic side with very slight tints of magic/fantastical elements. recommendations are welcome!
