Recs if you like The Z Word...

Sometimes we just need a little humor alongside our nightmares. Here are some Comedy Horror books to give you a good laugh and scare at the same time.

*Suggestions welcome!

If you ask someone what apocalyptic fiction they've read involving zombies, there's a fair chance most or even all of that list will have been written by cis men, because they're the books that get the most publication & promotion in the genre

My hope is that this list will help someone find a new favourite author! ♡

Sister list to: Apocalyptic, but Make it Queer

As always, suggestions incredibly welcome!

☠

Note: Not specifically a list of good LGBTQ+ representation (though many of them absolutely are, and many are written by queer and/or trans authors!). But I have not read all of them (yet), so this list doesn't inherently imply my recommendation, as such.

Call me a monster? Have it your way 🤷‍♀️ Queer characters who become something wild, feral, misunderstood--and maybe also a literal creature.

Suggestions welcome!

adult and young adult books about queer women/girls surviving in apocalyptic dystopias (zombies, viruses, disasters, evil governments, etc.) because even the end of the world wouldn’t stop me from being super gay.

I want to up my horror comedy literary game, given I will always think of Shaun of the Dead first. Here's what y'all told me to read.

books for when you just cant wait for halloween

These post-apocalyptic stories examine our current world despite being set after (or sometimes during) the collapse of society. Whether it be critiquing government systems, power dynamics, the flaws and strengths of humans, environmental changes, these stories all have something to explore.

Whether they're making questionable relationship choices, being self-destructive, or downright morally dubious, we support the gay right to be wrong

So zombies (or ghouls) don’t seem scary to me until I start thinking about them and then they become the most terrifying thing ever.

So let’s read about them!

Suggestions welcome:)

(Almost) Everything we've read so far!

Every day in the month of October Year of Queer Lit brings you a hauntingly good LGBTQIA+ book rec! :)
