First book that came to mind for me was A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes... Though I have no clue if you're interested in villainous obsessions with power and money (or suggestions! ;) )

thank you! it’s a character type i consistently love :D several of these are sourced from a club post i made a while back asking for recommendations of books about obsessed characters! and i’ll add Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes for sure🙂↕️ obsession-ception!
