my friend sent me this very interesting post here on the differences in how the consequences of ai usage is viewed in western and asian countries, which i think is also quite applicable to the differences between apocalyptic/dystopian fiction and unlimited flow, which is not a subgenre of it but rather stands adjacent to it. the tone of survival differs quite a bit imo
