Oh, such a dog lover. I have two and they are my babies.
We have one and she is incredibly spoiled. She's currently spending the afternoon giving me the stink-eye because my spouse gave her a snack before lunch instead of during lunch so now she thinks she has been cheated out of her lunch snack.
I think she deserves two snacks!
The Perks of Loving a Wallflower would be a good fit!
And possibly The Honey Witch- it's set in that time period but with (secret) magic, and a large portion of the book is spent away from high society.
