I'm reading "In Time with You" by Kristin Dwyer and her family treats wool/yarn making like witchcraft or tarot. She talks about the colors as she dyes the wool.

Scythe and sparrow. The mmc is in a crochet club with a bunch of feisty little old ladies and the fmc infiltrates the club. However, there is a lot of spice and gore so check trigger warnings before reading!
