Sports Books come in all shapes and forms. Maybe you want an athlete’s memoir, a literary drama, a sports romance, a mystery, an endurance adventure, a manga, or a book about the science and culture of sport - we have it all! This is not a comprehensive list of all niche genres, but a little map of the many ways sport can show up in literature. Recommendations are always welcome - just remember: variety is the key! 😉

👀 welllll if you want to allow fictional sports as well, then all for the game by nora sakavic (which is my favorite series of all time hehe). they play a sort of indoor lacrosse football hybrid thing and also the mafia is there, which makes me believe that if nothing else it would at least be a unique addition to the list lol
Update: Will add this immediately! It gives absolutely everything I love about sport books: passion, determination, teamwork or not so teamwork lol, coaching, etc.

yes! and I'm really not mad about all the details we get from their first game in season. other books might have skipped over it and just gave us the major points or end result of it, but here we really got the whole game and everything that's happening on court. i love it!

Ohh right, I somehow forgot that all for the game is about a sport (wow lol)... I think I'll keep from adding fictional sports for now (might change my mind later), but it's definitely an honorable mention! 🤗
