There is an epidemic of authors marketing their books as having lesbian characters but never actually using the word “lesbian” in text— or only doing so in a negative context. i recently read dead girls walking by sami ellis and i know it was said at least once. i can’t remember which book of the series it was said in but grand slam romance by ollie hicks. i know the book of blood and roses by annie summerlee said it, but i think it was one of the side characters who said it and not the main character, though i could be recalling that wrong.
