yayy i'm glad it interests you! it's actually a genre i want to get into myself in terms of reading. i've always been interested in espionage especially after taking a course about it in university so i thought i'd make a list for the community since it's a pretty cool topic imo! a bunch of these books also have tv series or film adaptations, which is how i'm most familiar with them. Le Carre, Forsyth, Clancy, Fleming, and Greene are considered some classic authors. i only included some of their most recognizable works. personally, i want to get into Herron's Slough House series (Slow Horses is book 1) since i really enjoy the tv series. also Ludlum's Jason Bourne series because i loved the movies, but apparently the books are entirely different. i tried to include as much variety when researching for this list but it's definitely a work in progress still!
