Memoirs from people who either are or were in religious movements or cults of any kind. This is not anti-religion, and includes memoirs of people still in their religions, and I am ALWAYS looking for more - please offer suggestions.

thank you for this list!!! i loved educated and rather enjoyed unorthodox so I'm very glad to have a list of similar reads
Thank you so much for putting this list together! I can't wait to dive in!
So glad people are liking this one! I’ve been so fascinated with this stuff for YEARS.
Love this. Here's a few more:
Holy Ghost Girl (Donna M Johnson) Mennonite Valley Girl (Carla Funk) Hollywood Park (Mikel Jollett) Leaving the Witness (Amber Scorah) Waiting for the Apocalypse (Veronica Chater) Empty the Pews (ed Chrissy Stroop & Lauren O'Neal)
Love your list! One suggestion: Cult, a Love Story, by Alexandra Amor
I thought of another I read recently: Cult Bride, by Liz Cameron
Awesome!! Adding them in thank you!
This is wonderful, thanks for compiling!
Thank you so much! I hope this list will help others who also struggle to understand or recover from their time in a cult. Can't wait to read some of these!
Other people have compiled lists more about the deconstruction and recovery but I think that having first person accounts can be so healing and also help those of us who never experienced this to understand them more. I do want to include more memoirs from people who are CURRENTLY in faith systems especially organized ones but those get trickier. I might eventually make a separate list for those when I find more.
