I see you have Chloe Walsh’s Binding 13 and Keeping 13, but I would say that Joey, the MMC in the next two books Saving 6 and Redeeming 6 is much more traumatized. And even more traumatized yet is Gibsie, the MMC in the fifth book, Taming 7. In fact, the whole series is about trauma but the last book is about a young woman’s.

CW is a psychologist so that really helps her understand the nature of trauma.

Mary Jo Putney really knows how to do a traumatized hero. I’ve read two of her “old school” books, both written pre-2000. One still passes muster, The Rake. The other has the rape of a young girl in the open chapter. While the hero regrets it immediately and punishes himself for doing this for almost a decade, it’s a line many readers won’t cross.
