The Wheel of Time

The Wheel of Time is a series of high fantasy novels by American author Robert Jordan, with Brandon Sanderson as a co-author for the final three installments. These books are argued by many as one of the most expansive and memorable high fantasy series of all time. It totals 14 books (if you don't count the prequel) and 10 to 11k pages depending on if you read the hardcover or paperback.

Suggested reading order, unlike some series, should follow the publication order, with "New Spring" being an additional read after the series concludes.

  • The Great Hunt (1990)
  • The Dragon Reborn (1991)
  • The Shadow Rising (1992)
  • The Fires of Heaven (1993)
  • Lord of Chaos (1994)
  • A Crown of Swords (1996)
  • The Path of Daggers (1998)
  • Winterā€™s Heart (2000)
  • Crossroads of Twilight (2003)
  • Knife of Dreams (2005)
  • The Gathering Storm (2009)
  • Towers of Midnight (2010)

Would love to see this a quest/challenge since it's a super large read/accomplishment to get through, most people it takes years šŸ˜…

I was wondering how that worked, read the FAQ after I saw a few status updates today. Very cool system, and I can't help but spew about the books I'm reading so one day it'll be a quest šŸ˜ I'll keep an eye out for my invite šŸ˜œ

Wow I had no idea itā€™s such a long read, sounds like a fun challenge to take on

Yea I'm excited to get started on it, hopefully towards the end of spring!

Thoughts and prayers for all those participating šŸ™ˆ I was washed out in the slog. Completed book 4, but no futher.

2

I've heard some of the books are like that, most people I know that have read this series over years and not months. That would probably be why šŸ¤£

One of my friends growing up was obsessed with this series! I can recognize that what's happening in the story is cool, particularly for the time written, but welp. There are plenty of other people to love it šŸ˜… I was doing one book every two months as my pace, if that helps at all?

Good context and is helpful, thank you for sharing. I haven't read any of these yet but I'm trying to keep the mind of some books will be a slog but worth it. It's how I treated the first 2 books of throne of glass and I was glad I continued on to assassin's blade because it was just so much better.
