Aspiring to read more of charco press because they are so so underrated! From their page: "Charco means 'puddle' in Spanish. In short: the very best of contemporary Latin American literature. Brought to you in English translation for the first time."

I am hoping to read more translations from Charco Press, do you have any recommendations on where to start or favorites? Iâm considering signing up for their 2026 bundle.
So sorry for the delayed reply!
More recent charco press books are a little difficult to get for me, and so I haven't explored as much as I wanted to đ„Č my personal favourite was Die, My Love by Ariana Harwicz which was adapted into a film. Strangely, I thought the film couldn't really capture the unhinged and unfiltered thoughts of the main character as I wanted it to. The narration style might not be for everyone though!
I think the most well known writers among Charco press have been Claudia Pineiro (Elena Knows, Time of the Flies, A Little luck) and Selva Almada (Not a River, Dead Girls, The Wind that Lays Waste). However I've also heard amazing things about The National Telepathy (Roque Larraquy) and Restoration (Ave Varrera).
Happy reading!
Oh my gosh no need to apologize at all! âșïž Die, My Love is one I recently picked up but I had no idea where to start with any of the other authors so this is super helpful. Thanks for putting list this together, I didnât realize they had this many titles.
Happy to hear that! I hope you have an amazing time with these books!! I have to get more of Charco press some day :-))

I haven't read a single one of these yet (!!!) but I hope to change that this year! Elena Knows is at the top of my list âš
I'm pretty sure charco press became well-known (or at least, established in the global book market) through Elena Knows!! I think it's a great place to start âșïžđ
Thank you very much for the list!! I'm trying to diversify my reading experience and came across this list. Are you also updating with the new releases?
