Do you think The Doctor Who Fooled the World by Brian Deer could fit? It covers Andrew Wakefield and his fraudulent MMR vaccine claims. Super interesting idea, this is a neat list!

Ooooh, very possibly! I've been on the fence about whether The Great Pretender by Susannah Cahalan meets the critera, but maybe both of them could come under 'contempt & disregard for due scientific process'? Either way, that sounds like a fascinating read!
Andrew Wakefield definitely could, imo! I think Deer makes a compelling argument that Wakefield manipulated data, and Wakefield had an undisclosed financial conflict of interest. But I can also totally understand wanting to keep the scope of your list more narrow and well-defined! I haven't heard of the other book, that one sounds really interesting!
highly recommend 🔗hbomberguy's video about andrew wakefield and the anti-vax movement, his fraudulent paper is basically the foundation of the modern anti-vaccine movement and brian deer is the journalist who basically exposed wakefield's lies to the public!
