Books featuring demi leads, for those of us who live vicariously through our books✨
Demisexuality may not be explicitly disclosed or outright discussed in these stories; I did my best to find stories that should have a main lead that presents as demi. Recommendations are encouraged 🖤💜🩶🤍

I read “demisexual lead,” and I am SAT.
Also if I could recommend: Road Rules by Brigham Vaughn 💖
Will def add!! Let me know if you have any others 😊 I think the only book I’ve ever read that kind of had Demi rep was The Love Hypothesis, which I know some people don’t like but I resonated with it!
The MC figures out his being demi towards the end, and I screamed, omg a demi rep! I haven’t read The Love Hypothesis yet, but I’ll check it out. 🙏🏼💖
Ahhhh LOVE that! Will def have to add to the TBR!
Always looking for Demi rep. I didn't really know it was a thing until a read romance novels with it in it and went, oh, I'm not completely alone
YES ME TOO Even in books I haaaate insta love I love a slow burn
RIGHT! If I had a penny for the number of times I’ve had to explain how demisexuality isn’t just how it “normally” is, I’d be a billionaire 😂 I only learned about demisexuality like 4 years ago and it’s felt so good knowing I’m not crazy for thinking the idea of kissing someone after a first date was disgusting or having sex with someone I didn’t love made me cringe. And while I LOVE a romance, even spicy ones, sometimes it’s nice to read about people who have the same feelings about love and relationships you do.
Wait…hold up. My mind is blown. This is me too 🤯
Then you may be demisexual! It’s part of the asexual spectrum, and essentially it means you have zero sexual attraction to other people unless you have an emotional or romantic connection with them first. The best way that I describe it to people who don’t understand is I tell them, “Yes, I think Jensen Ackles and Chris Hemsworth are both hot, but if either of them came up to me and wanted to make out or have sex I’d be like ‘Ew, no thanks, gross’” 😂 Of course, it’s a spectrum, so it’s not always exactly the same for everyone, but that’s how it is for me!
Yep that sounds about right for me too. Thank you!
Of course!! Welcome to the club! 💜🖤🩶
Oh. Oh. Now that sounds familiar 😅 I mean thirsting over fictional characters and reading spicy books sometimes? Oh abso-fricking-lutely. But real people (even hot celebrities)? Meh nope not really.
Immediately saved this list and definitely gonna check a couple books on here out; I already have a couple books here on my TBR anyway ✨ Thank you so much! 💜🥰
Omg of course!! Yessss same!! If they’re not real, no problem. Real people?? Absolutely not. It makes me uncomfortable to even pretend to imagine dating or being in a romantic situation with a real person. Which maybe is more than demisexuality and something else, but I totally feel you 😂 Full disclosure, the only book that I have read off of this list is the Love Hypothesis, which I did really like, but I’m compiling this list not just for everyone but for myself because I want to read more books with demisexual in them. So if you do happen to read one of them and feel like it’s not really a good representation, please let me know! 😊💜
The second part was the biggest revelation for me. I thought I couldn't be BC I liked spicy romance and I didn't really know those people. But it's totally different. Idk why for me though.
And for me, the idea of kissing or having sex wasn't off-putting. I was just zero interest until I'd grown closer and felt safer. I just kind of liked emotional closeness and it wasn't disinterest in the sexual intimate part just like that will come at some point.
To read about people that are like that too was a breath of fresh air. To see people that aren't made to feel rushed or on a timeline to catch up to the other person in a relationship was so heartwarming.
Yessss same!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💯💯💯
