I’d love to add a political history of “The War on Drugs” if anyone has recommendations for that! I think I’ve read statements by Nixon administration officials where they say outright that the effects on Black communities were not incidental, but actually the entire point. But the only specific source I can recall right now is Unmask Alice by Rick Emerson, which is about this but also a bunch of other things..
