Would any of these be a good read for an intermediate Spanish learner? I've been starting to read more in Spanish but I don't want to bite off more than I can chew without an huge vocabulary
I think Como agua para chocolate by Laura Esquivel is reasonably intermediate-adjacent, and you could feasibly get into the plays (La casa de Bernarda Alba and Bodas de sangre by Federico García Lorca) as they are 95% dialogue haha. I would recommend finding a good dictionary or having WordReference pulled up as they do use some historical and/or region-specific language! I also remember El coronel no tiene quien le escriba by Gabriel García Márquez being a shorter and less complex read compared to some of the other titles on this list. Hope this all is helpful! 💗
I will check those out, tysm!!
