Great list! "Concrete Rose" and "The Hate U Give" by Angie Thomas remind me of this

I don't think I could stomach The Hate U Give but yes this is the vybe I was looking for! Those stories need to be told but are not always easy to digest

Yes, they're definitely difficult to read! I will say, Concrete Rose was hard but in a different way. I think it focused more on the image people have of teenage parents, specifically Black teenage parents, and of the many societal biases they face. Really well-written books all around
