English Renaissance Literature

Very niche category but if there are any English Literature students wondering what they will be studying for a little bit this might be useful.

This is such a cool list! Will definitely be refering back to it, especially if it gets expanded on! :) Quick question though, why did you include Michel de Montaigne? Wasn't he French and wrote in French?

Yes 100% But since he created the essay format and influenced so many of the writers after him he's included in my course anyways. I think my course is a bit strange though, so take my inclusion with a grain of salt. If you have any recommendations I'd be very grateful for them.

Ahaaa, that makes sense! Was just curious :) I'm not really familiar with English Renaissance lit and the time period, but maybe Marlowe's Dr. Faustus and Spenser's The Fairy Queene? I don't know if these are considered to be Renaissance works, though, since the Renaissance period is a bit finnicky anyways in regards to periodisation, and I don't know much about English lit of that time period.
