I still can’t process that ending. Ravi might be the one constant light, but seeing everything Pip had to endure just to survive—she didn’t deserve that. All she wanted was to be “normal.”

Even though I get that a lot of the things Sadie brought were impractical because her sister did not warn or prepare her, she did not have to throw the stuff out 😭 I mean I get disinvesting from buying stuff we don’t need but damn she could have worn that dress another time 😂. I need Mal and Sadie to connect but I also wouldn’t survive on a trip like this because why are you throwing away my underwear and that trip is too much for me!

I looove Mal wanting Sadie to have her own queer journey and just general life journey she never got to have. I want to hug Sadie sooo badly 🫂

I feel for Harriet I’m also a people pleaser and do not want to fight rude customers but it sucks that she grew up with cold parents 💔 I think I might like her character progression

I feel bad for Mal and Sadie they’re both going through so much even though they’re very different things. I like that they’re so different, Mal is running away from her problems and Sadie is trying to discover herself and her sexuality

Audre and Bash my babies!!! I love them so much and I love this book! It was sooo cute and heartwarming! This is pretty much everything I love about coming of age stories and romance. When it comes to YA I love the coming of age aspects because I love seeing the realness of an unfortunate situation and people receiving comfort and healing. In this book I got that sooo much! I wanted to hug Audre and Bash multiple times and shake their parents for their bad behaviour! I read Seven days in June so I know she’s been through a lot but still. I also understand now why Eva is so protective but it’s not just that I feel like she overreacted a lot and didn’t listen to her and it felt like she wanted Audre to just stay perfect which was part of the issue they tacked. This book tackled so much complex topics like panic attacks, anxiety, broken families, over protective parents, generational trauma and perfectionism. This book was emotional but also funny! Audre is so blunt and just not a street smart girl so when she was trying to live a little it was funny to see those moments plus her comments in her self help book.
I loved Audre she was smart, quick witted, logical, vulnerable and lovely. She was wise but also didn’t know the answers and I just wanted to tell her it’s ok to not know. I loved Bash he was sweet yet insecure about himself given his dark past but he always remained kind. I loved how much they grew to care about each other and showcase that they can lean on each other. Reshma was another enjoyable character the best friend of Audre she was also complex and I liked her pov and sapphic love story.
I loved the healing journey with family and talks of mental health and wanting to grow as you grow up. I read the physical copy of this book and the audiobook and the audiobook did a great job with the voices especially Reshma and her accent. This book had depth, love, humour and so much heart! Which is what I need in a romance and what I got 5/5 = 9/10

Don’t understand a lot but I’m kinda excited to keep going? Idk I’ve never really read a lot of fantasy so I don’t really know what’s going on but I guess I should vibe it out?
