I’ve been reading this book as part of a challenge to read this in the lens of the prodigal son. It’s funny, though, that the more that I read into this, the more it’s becoming a story of the prodigal father and brothers. This family is really crazy, and I really can’t blame Alyosha for seeking refuge in a monastery. 😣

This was a beautiful book all around
The Christian influences in the creation of narnia were strong. Normally I don’t care for those kinds of parallels but CS Lewis does it so well - poetic and descriptive and seems that the good parts of religious beliefs can really shine through here

🎭 💔 🏡 Definitely the darkest and most compelling book of Jane Austen. The context is heartbreaking, the first indirect discourse was challenging and the irony harder to detect. The heroine Fanny was really well developed and she came to be my favorite Jane Austen character. The plot is really slow, but I was delighted with daily life details. It took me more time to read this book than other Austen's works, but it was worth it. My heart broke with the outcome.
