Specifically, what book has made you feel like this lately? 😂

For me, I've been feeling this way about Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins and The Book of M by Peng Shepherd 🤧🤧 I recommend these books to everyone, saying that they're the best books ever but warning my friends about the irreparable emotional pain 😭

Hi everyone, I would love to know what your favourite “classic” is and why. Like what made you love the book and why should we read it or what did it move and stir inside you that you cannot forget about it. ✨ I love reading classics and I love finding out what people associate with them. Because the human condition is a pretty interesting thing.

Inspired by the "Books with No Romance" request in the club earlier and the tumblr post that says something like "yeah yeah 'I'd kill or die for you' is overdone in a romance story. what about 'I'd kill or die for you' when it's a boss to their employee? exquisite dynamic." What books do you have where there is an unshakable, mountain-moving bond between management and their subordinates (extremely extremely platonic yet so compelling)???

The two I have right now are Hench by Natalie Zina Walschots (supervillain saves woman's life, she becomes a devoted henchwoman, moves heaven and earth for him and then he does the same and that goes back and forth a couple times) and The Hands of the Emperor by Victoria Goddard (your divinely-ordained emperor-turned-king, like, really needs a week off. this WILL cause problems. you WILL take care of them). Any favorites from y'all?

I love some romance in my books, even if they are not explicitly within the romance genre, ans I am always looking for well written couples! Mine is Kaz and Inej from six of crows. I love how the moral of their story is "I will change myself for better because you deserve something better and I want to be the one to give it to you"

Throughout social media and interacting with online friends, it's fascinating to read how different our school book curriculum for English classes are selected around the world. It differs so much when the class has a focus on English literature or it's mainly EFL (English Foreign Learners) classes where other areas like listening and speaking are prioritised too.

What ideal book do you want to add to the English class book curriculum? Or what your ideal book curriculum look like from scratch? I've also added a couple of other questions to broaden the discussions:

• Are there any books/genres in your English class from your school experience that you'd like to keep?
• Which book genre needs to be explored more in an English class?
• What is the intended audience behind your book choice? Is it for a native class on English literature, for an EFL class, a humanity-focused class that aims on diversity, etc.?
• On what school level do you recommend your book choice to be read (primary school, middle school, high school, etc.)?
• Do you count translations in your ideal curriculum?

my physical TBR is way too long, i have no idea where to start. i have the problem of buying books but never reading them, which i am hoping to change. right now i’m 70% of the way through Alchemised, with plans to finish this weekend!
