it was fun ok? everything was very wattpad-esque: the rags-to-riches plot, the characters (with the serious but caring one and the « dark » and funny one), the inverted harem, everything the writing wasn’t bad but it wasn’t very original, again not very different from the things we used to read on wattpad in 2016 (probably a bit better than that) i can’t give it a higher grade because again very predictable, very cliche and a bit unoriginal also the characters can be annoying (like oh my god please use the money girl) but it was fun

i … don’t know? at first i really almost hated the story, it felt typical, like reading my diary in 7th grade and then i started to understand Tori, to understand how she worked and then you get whirled into the whole solitaire plot and i was hooked and kept reading for hours overall still very cliche not too bad to represent some mental issues , the portrayal of her thoughts is well done the relationship between her and michael ends up being touching

Loved it. The world building is phenomenal : Atwood leaves nothing coincidentally , every detail such as which door the handmaids use can be analyzed and it was so interesting to annotate this book. I loved the characters, the fact that June isn’t some type of hero makes this book even greater because we understand her thinking, we understand why she does certain things and how she maintains her sanity in this society. I absolutely loved the memory flashes, the fact that we can tell her memory is fading and the lack of differences between memory and imagination is absolutely amazing writing. Of course on a political level this book is a must read and i think it is necessary to really think about the steps taken by the people in power in the book and compare them to our societies , the digitalization of books and money seem even more dangerous after reading this book btw. So much thoughts but i don’t want to write too much so im ending my review with this: amazing book, must read, looking forward to reading the testaments and maybe watching the show.
