Maybe I'm just not used to the dark romantasy world. But...witches who cut themselves and use their own blood to cast spells? Making elaborate and "beautiful" scars on their arms? I really hope this isn't marketed as YA.

Each one of these short stories (apart from one!) was captivating, haunting, and well-written. The vibes are very similar in each one, and most of the characters are shitbags who pretty much deserve what they get, but I was still captivated all the way through. I'm not a big reader of thrillers but I thoroughly enjoyed this collection.

I recommend this book to anyone, but especially women who desperately need to find joy and purpose again. This book is the voice of the best friend you've always dreamed of having, that validates you and tells you to get out there and live your life and enjoy it. Read it with a tasty drink and a pink highlighter on hand.

Rather like the first book in the series, it took me a while to get into it, but after the first third or so of the novel things really set off and the pacing is much better. It's interesting to see Emily continue to grow and evolve as a character. She is decidedly different from most female MCs and this is refreshing.

Every single page of this book is gorgeous. Reading it is like drinking a glass of freshly pressed orange juice, giving you energy, sweetness, and zest for life. The only negative thing I have to say about it so far is the structure is a little hodgepodge. In a way, it's kind of like Marcus Aurelius' Meditations, but if Marcus Aurelius loved women, swearing, sex, and the colour pink.
