I love the casual mention that Houdini went on a quest to the underworld 😅 I wonder who his godly parent was?

Septuagenarian explaining Tinder — from 85%

This has got to be my favourite part of the entire book! 😂

*“So Tinder is for dating. You post pictures of yourself on an app. An app is like the internet, but only on your phone.

The pictures of the men are usually on a mountain, or chopping down a tree. Sometimes the pictures have been cropped down the middle to cut out a former partner.

The pictures of the women are often on boats, or with groups of other women, and you’re not sure which one you’re supposed to be looking at, so I suppose you take pot luck.”*

    I’m dyyyingggg 🤣😂

Something about this book just isn't hitting for me the same way some of the others did? I'm not really sure why I'm not liking it as much as the others, but the plot just isn't engaging me in the same way as the other books. I found a lot of the other books to be page turners, but for this one I'm finding I don't care quite as much. Anyone else have this issue?

    considering a DNF

i picked up this book because a friend loved it, but i’m neither an Arthurian myth enthusiast, nor a YA girlie, at all. so my lack of interest in continuing it might come from just that. it’s not a bad book though, because the writing and the characters are fine so far, but i’m not hooked at all.

a defence though, is that Bree is very real. she is definitely a 16 yo, acts like it and sounds like it, which is great to see. her grief and behaviour for that is also probably spot on, so no hate for that at all. i think she’s a character who needs to learn a lot, and that is rarely a bad thing.

'Is it true that you shouted at Professor Umbridge? Yes, said Harry. 'You called her a liar?' 'Yes!' You told her He Who Must Not Be Named is back? Yes!

Professor McGonagall sat down behind her desk, frowning at Harry. Then she said, 'Have a biscuit, ‘

AHAHAHHAA IS THAT A REWARD PROF MCGONAGALL

    Movie — from 4%

Damn! Wish I’d read the book before watching the movie. Now Ron is James Bond, Ibrahim is Gandhi, etc. 🙈

Would’ve been nice to imagine these people in my head.

I had found the film only average, but my friend (whom I trust to know my taste) swore I’d love the book, so I picked it up.

I’m soooo happy I did! Throughly enjoying the writing. The sense of humour is sooooo good!!! ☺️ Love PC Donna. Haha And Elizabeth and Joyce is written so well.
