  • Have you ever read a book so bad you had to rethink your ratings?

Have you ever read a book so bad you've had to retroactively revise the rating of *another* book because you realised you were too harsh at the time?

choking gurgling slurring wheezing screaming throwing up Uhm, as much I wanted to like this book so bad I still couldn't help feeling very conflicted while reading this book. I really like the plot and the banter between them before. It does still a bit bland at first, but it started to get exciting by reaching 40% and it goes back to flat in above 80ish percent. This book may still be worth reading. It was a little humorous, swoony, spicy, and had a nice pace. Listening to the duet audiobook is highly recommended because of its great duet narration. But it was dull and hardly anything was happening here. Lights Out had a spark that this novel did not. The characters in Lights Out were hilarious, but everything in this movie was merely mediocre. Nico and Lauren didn't do much for me; well, their spice was hot, but that was about it. For me, the "second chance" was not enough and lack of something if I might say๐Ÿ˜” Additionally, this book seems lighter and less darker than previous ones, which really disappoints me. Despite it all, I would like to acknowledge Kasi Hollowell, Teddy Hamilton (as the main narrator), and Jason June for narrating this book for narrating of this book. I like how realistically they portrayed the characters and gave them life. And since the epilogue hinted to the events regarding Tyler and Stella, I assume the upcoming book in the series would focus on them. Well, we'll see.

"He had upsetting biceps. He didnโ€™t look healthy; he looked like a collection of lemons in a sack." The narrator is so funny

    Wtf people?

Reading GR reviews I found out that an astonishing lot of people was hating on the book because there is a character that uses they/them pronouns and saying that it caused a lot of confusion while reading. Wtf? If it confuses you maybe you just can't read?? Say that you don't respect other people's pronouns and you "hate 'woke' shit", but if the problem is that it confuses you... that's a literacy problem

๐ŸŽง Not what I was expecting, but it made sense. I don't know what, but something felt off for me? Either way, I really liked the audiobook. Both voice actors were great and I'd probably enjoy something by the guest one. I really enjoy Navessa's writing style and I'll be waiting for the next story

I think I didn't have to look up so many words in a while, which is exciting (new vocab yay) but it's getting a bit hard to follow
