A good entertainment and some really nice spicy scenes you might want to be a bit careful of you want to read in public. Overall a good demonstration of how healthy communication does not prevent miscommunication but can help solve it faster then the typical RomCom-trope

Audiobook: brilliant narrator, 6/5 stars!

Okay, this book far exceeded my expectations. I had expected a sweet, romantic story about two gay men in a small coastal town. What I got instead was one of the most genuine and authentic stories about two men navigating their fears, secrets, and struggles together—finding strength and security in each other despite all their traumatic and traumatizing experiences. The unexpectededly explicit sex scenes are written with such raw intensity yet with care to give all the participants room and to never let the sex feel like a plot device. I usually don't like books that want to be both plot driven and smutty, as I feel mostly authors can do one good but not the other. Kellen Graves manages to write them in a way that don't make me feel like a voyeur but also invested in the pleasure of the MCs. I take ½ of a star because while the story remained its good pace and never broke with previously established characteristics when there wasn't an authentic character development, parts of the ending felt sort of rushed and didn't tie up all the loose ends in a satisfactory way (for me personally). I liked the overall way the MCs dealt with the situation but I would have liked to know a bit more about some of the hints that I felt were given earlier in the story, but in the end just weren't relevant to the conclusion. Also the very-very end was a bit too kitschy for my taste.
