I didn’t love this one. It threw me into a bit of a reading slump (I pressed on bc it’s for a book club).
Honestly didn’t feel attached enough to the characters—I just don’t think the writing style worked for me. There were some nice moments, but overall, I was falling asleep as I finished it.
As a side note, I missed having shorter chapters reading this book. I’d have to pick back up halfway through a chapter, and it wasn’t my favorite.

Having trouble feeling all that invested in the characters as I enter the final third of the book. There are some really beautiful moments and lines few and far between, and I don’t feel strongly enough about them in the moment to stop or mark them…
Maybe just not for me? Finishing anyway because it’s a book club book. Maybe the final act will be redeeming.

What hobby or hobbies do you enjoy outside of the bookish hemisphere? 🏓
Mine are walking and biking trails at nearby local parks, learning languages, film photography and bread tag collecting.
I have also been thinking of taking up a racket sport but there are plenty of good options out there, I am finding it challenging to zero in on a single one to dedicate my time to learning!

Reading this one for book club this month, but I am not into it yet.
Definitely is reading like a fairy tale in the sense that time moved really quickly and in broad strokes. Like wow that was a lot of telling of plot in the first section… curious to see where the story goes from here, though.

Struggling to get into this at the moment… I took a break after the first book, and it took a second to get reoriented. Now I’m just not quite hooked. Hoping it picks up!
