Basically what the title says - when where you directly inspired to do something because you read about it in a book (e.g. getting a specific pastry or trying archery etc.)? I was reading Atmosphere by TJR and when the MC talked about rearranging glowy stars I impulsively bought some and then stuck a lot of them to the walls and I love it so much so I was wondering if y'all had a similar experience :)

Hii, I'm Jana and also from Germany haha My fav genre is fantasy but I'm currently trying to broaden my horizon by reading other genres as well - I'm a huge Tolkien fan bc it's the embodiment of fantasy for me (and I'd go to Middle Earth in a heartbeat lol), and Eragon because it's my favorite childhood series (and also the reason I will read any and every book with a dragon/dragons in it - seriously, every second book in my bookshelf has something to do with dragons😅) As for the classic question of cats vs dogs, it's both for me but for different reasons! Dogs are great as adventure companions, and cats are great for when you're reading/writing (though sadly cats tend to be suspicious of me for some heartbreaking reason) My most recent favorite movies have been Project Hail Mary and Pride And Prejudice (I saw it for the first time two days ago and have been obsessed with it ever since so I really need to read it soon as well) - I also absolutely adore the Lord of the Rings movies (shocker, ik) as well as King Arthur: The Legend of The Sword, The Holy Grail (Monty Python), and Brave (the archery is soo incredibly accurate in that movie, it's amazing). I also do archery and make my own chainmail (love to yap about that on here😅) Nice to meet everybody!
I've been thinking about this for quite some time and I'm really trying to bond more with others, but I've been having a bit of a hard time with it tbh. I'm a very reserved person in general and it takes me a while to really open up to others (and I'm anxious to post this but here I go lol).
so with this I'm trying to shout into the void for others to introduce themselves! I really want to make more friends on here and would love to get to know more of you and maybe some of you can find folks with the same interests too ❤️

As for me, I'm jessie from germany and I'd say I read a broad range of genres, my favourite being fantasy! I'm currently getting into robin hobbs realm of the elderlings and am impatiently waiting for dead beat by leigh bardugo to come out. Also I'm trying to get more into horror, so I'd be happy if any of you had a suggestions for me! I have japanese gothic and the eyes are the best part available rn 👀
My favourite books of all time are probably the inheritance cycle aka eragon and the mediator by meg cabot, which are both most likely very based on nostalgia but I think about them regularly lol. I also really, really love anything miss bardugo writes, but I do love six of crows and ninth house the most 🐍🐇 AND!! honorable mention to the familiar which I liked a lot too!
Apart from books I'm an avid gaming, movie and tv series enjoyer! I love anything horror like resident evil, but here I enjoy many different genres. I most recently saw the new spider-man and obsession which were both absolutely breathtaking in different ways iykyk. Next week I'm going to go watch the new insidious movie!
