A vile, extreme Irish horror about a far-right isolationist cult and the unraveling of a marriage. Sinister, unsettling, shocking and bloody. Loved the combination of social commentary on abusive relationships and the rise of far right ideology with folk and body horror, though the Morrigan part was too extreme for my taste. Still a great read.

Like a magic picture or a palimpsest of unreliable narration, with crystal, gorgeous prose, a harrowing meditation on love, grief and loss (of homeland, of family, of love), of what's left after you've lost everything. Loved it.

Horror Around the World
I love horror and I'm really interested in seeing how the genre shows up in different countries and parts of the world. I am making a list of all the books I have currently collected that take place in countries other than the United States, England, Canada, and Australia. I will add as I find more. If I made a mistake about a book, please let me know.
