Does it shock anybody else's parents that you're reading spicy novels even though you're an adult?
I'm 29 and today my mum discovered that Heated Rivalry (my current book obsession) is spicy. She full named me with a really dramatic gasp. Saying "I thought you were picking up clean romances, I did not realize you like spicy books."
And I'm like "And? I'm 29"
She's even bought me other spicy novels as gifts for birthdays and Christmas. Mostly Romantasy novels. Now I'm wondering if she thought those were clean romances too and did not realize they were spicy (some are very spicy).
I know for certain she'd be mortified to see my Dark Romance obsession. Some of things in there are... yeah....
I just don't get the big deal... 🤔

Hello my fellow librarians and library lovers - I'm looking for a pick me up! For my librarians - what's your favorite patron interaction you've had? And for library lovers - what's your favorite thing about libraries or the best program you've been to?

Ok guys, the title says everything. I need recommendations about books that are so heavy they make me cry. The last ones I read are the series of "Boys of Tommen" and "The Way I Used to Be". They really made me brawl my eyes out. It can be any genre (I prefer fantasy and ya though). Thank you all for the answers 😊

Me to the author of this book:

I rescued this book from the FREE cart at my library because I didn’t want it falling into the hands of someone who would take it seriously!!!
I don’t really want to write anything more about this godforsaken book than I already have in the forum. The only reason I would ever have a teenage girl read this would be to go through it page by page to explain why this is terrible.
It’s not even theologically sound imho...this is how she describes Jesus dispensing grace for people who continuously sin:
“In the words of the Soup Nazi (if he were handing out grace in those bowls), ‘No grace for you!’”
Now, I’m no religious scholar, so forgive me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the whole point that Jesus’ grace is not a finite resource???
Anyways, this book sucks!!! I recommend it only if you don’t have religious trauma and enjoy hate-reads!
