  • The Sprayed Edges Phenomenon

Lately, it feels like every book is coming out with a special sprayed edges edition, to the point where it stops feeling special.

How do you feel about books with sprayed edges?

I feel like it’s a bit of a cash grab when they make that version more expensive because you typically don’t see the edges when you store a book on the shelves anyway… unless you guys don’t store them with the spine facing forward? I don’t know 🤷‍♀️

  • Describe your favourite book in the worst way possible.

Guys let's play a game 😭. Describe your favourite book or one of your favourite books as badly as possible and let others guess it. I’ll go first!

Summer camp turns out to be mandatory military training for neglected children and in this said summer camp, A child is blamed for a crime he didn’t commit and must road-trip across America to prove it.

Can't wait to guess your books!

    great author, terrible book

everyone has misses, so what’s a book you hated from an author you love?

mine is zero days by ruth ware. she’s one of my favorite authors and that book is, to this day, one of the worst books i’ve ever read to the point i pretend it doesn’t exist when i think about her backlist.

  • Just wondering 🎮

I have a theoretical question for my fellow gamer bookworms. What book would you like to play as a videogame? I've been reading the prequel to The Priory of the Orange Tree, and it made me think... Damn it would be an awesome rpg. If it were something similar to Baldur's Gate 3 or South of Midnight I would pass away. I love to dream about this sometimes haha. I'm curious what y'all would love as a game. ✨

  • Pausing books

What would you consider to be pausing a book? And when do you usually pause/continue?

There's a book I'm currently reading which I'm enjoying, but I'm reading it so slowly I wonder if perhaps it's not the right time for me to read it.

  • Long Hold Lines

What books have you really been wanting to read but can’t because the hold line is so long? Are you still interested after you finally get the book?

For me it’s “Youth Group” which I’ve had on hold since July and an estimated wait from right now of 14 weeks. (According to Libby)

  • Fahrenheit 451
    Thoughts from 5% (page 11)

Was Ray Bradbury aware of what he was doing to German speaking readers when he named his protagonist Montag? Or did he not expect that some readers might know German? I guess it's just the doom of knowing more than one language...
