I was talking about this earlier with an acquaintance and she considers hardcovers fragile and paperbacks she can just throw in her bag without really worrying about it. With me, Iām always worried my paperbacks will tear to the point where I donāt let anyone else read it. If I can, I try to get the hardcover of the books I know Iāll reread a lot so it lasts longer. Now Iām wondering what other people think.

I read this book back in 2024 and I still remember to this day how much I enjoyed it. Best way to describe it spoiler free is that if you love the movie, be prepared for this to be a dark and entertaining awakening of the dangers of creating Jurassic Park. I would give it 6 stars if I could!

Fictional books that feel like a warm hug, featuring magic and whimsy and perfectly happy endings. These are lower on stakes and higher on good vibes!

I read Fourth Wing and thought dragons vs wyverns were like lions vs tigers.
But in Game of Thrones, the wyvern are called dragons, making dragons vs wyverns more like dogs vs german shepherds. Which view do you lean toward- and what book influenced you?
GoT couldve also called them wyvern but avoided it I guess.

Happy Easter to those who celebrate. Happy long weekend to those who get one. And general happy weekend vibes to everyone else.
What are your plans for the weekend? Are you going to get some time to read? Starting a new book? Seeing family? School work catch-up (of whatever level)? The boring odds and ends of life?
I'm skipping a family event on Sunday, but I have an Easter afternoon tea tomorrow, which should be fun. Other than that, I'll be reading either the book I started this morning or the book I can't get out of my mind (I hate my Insta algorithm right now for introducing me to this).
