Not my favorite TJR, if you're starting with this author, maybe don't start here. However, the characterization is - as usual - really well done and you really understand the characters and their motivation. I really feel like TJR let her characters lead the story here rather than the plot, it's full of feeling and will make you ask yourself a lot of questions!

I probably would have loved this as a younger queer, but it was a little young for me. The concept was fun and a good idea, but I found the pacing and the writing a little lacking.

I'm officially a Travis Baldree fan! I listened to the audiobook version of the book during all of my holiday travel and I never had such a good time driving! I found the cozy aspect really leant itself to the audio format and I really like Travis' voice! Also, the story is cute, the characters are lovely and well rounded and the found family trope really had me feeling my feelings.

Nice and cozy read, a little dubious as to how exactly one loses one's daughter, but it is necessary for the plot so I'll allow!

I'm a big fan of Sally Hepworth, and usually rave about her books and about how the plot suprised me. The writting is witty, the pacing is really well mastered and creates a tense atmosphere but I wasn't as surprised as usual. The characters didn't stick with me as much as they usually do, I felt quite detached from them. Not bad, just fine!

The writting is beautiful, the story is made all the more tragic because of how true is it, I was crying in my bed up until 1 am reading certain chapters... Some little details made my French blood curl (for instance, people didn't eat canelƩ in the Loire region!!), but the narration took over and you forget about it!

I thought the plot progressed a little too quickly in the beginning, but I fell in love with the characters and, as usual, found the plot well balanced and the world building really well done.

It's been a while since I've read such a big book and honestly, I've been dreading it. However, so far, the characters are quite easy to keep track of and the world building is so well done; you get introduced to concepts as you go and everything is quite clear. I'm only a hundred pages in and I already love Ead so much. I'm really excited to finally read this, I've heard so many good things!
