i had to really take my time to read this one because so much of lucy’s experience felt like things i had experienced myself as a queer woman who grew up in an irish catholic household. if i was 15 when i read this i think it would’ve truly broke me </3

The ups and downs of a young, queer, homoerotic friendship my god. If my highschool self would have found this book back when I was in the trenches 10 years ago (wow), I would've crashed out so severely but also would've felt seen.
