I’m mid-section about anger and I really appreciate the actual tools and tips this book offers. The author even mentions how other parenting books take the anger and yelling away without offering any other alternative.

I really wanted to like this book, but it seemed to be more of a memoir than informational or even anecdotal advice. It’s a large subject so it lends itself to part of the questions one might have, but it is not complete. It wouldn’t be on my reccomendation list for new parents or expecting mothers, it felt more like a slog.

This collection of Gail Carson Levine short stories are fairytale classics. The way she immerses you in the world and follows through its history from story to story is impressive; the stories can be read stand alone or together and feel complete. I can’t reccomend these enough to anyone who loves princess tales or fairy tales.

I am very excited to read this book. I have read some of it back in 7th grade, which is about 15 years ago, however I do not remember ever finishing it. I just remembered a small chuck of the story (not even the title) so I have googled my way through the internet to find this book.
As for now, I'm not disappointed. But I need to get in the mindset of YA again haha

As a former preschool teacher I feel like the saying “play is a child’s work” is so prevalent. Wether it’s Waldorf, Montessori, or any program, there is so much value placed on toys and things for children. It resonated a lot with me about their job is to learn to be adults, childhood is fun and memorable because they’re children and you’re a family, not because of all the things you did/gave them.

I give credit to the characterization by this author. Man do I relate to Marilla, Anne’s talking drove me nuts too. I DNF’d this because I couldn’t put up with it, read or read aloud to me. I liked the story, I loved the found family that was developing, so maybe I’ll try it again some day

A collection of the pilot books for popular series, for those of us who love to follow a character's journey for as long as an author will let us! Some of the below series have heavily debated starting points and book read orders--in those cases the pilot was selected based on what seems to be the most popular approach.
