Maybe cuz I seen the anime already but this didn’t smack for me as I thought it would. But I heard that at a certain point, the anime completely just departs from the manga so we’ll see when I get to that point

This is the first time I actually finish a novel within a week, what the hell. A 290 pager too.
So this is my first exposure to Stephen Kings novels and it’s fucking insane. It’s such a good novel that I managed to breeze through it effortlessly. His writing flows so well and it keeps you gripped to the story. The story of Carrie is a modern classic and I don’t even know if this classifies as horror. It’s more of a thriller with horror moments but it’s not scary at all. It’s very intimate actually.
Towards the end I started to get reminded of evangelical Christian’s. Margaret reminded me of them. Just very nutty and then eventually I got reminded of Christian nationalists, just cuz how nutty some Christian nationalists can be. Amazing novel.

Sooooo imma have to revisit this one when I’m more familiar with this era of writing. I found reading it to be difficult BUT I could still pickup on the overall themes and mood of the story. It just took me a long time to get through it. But Victor is insane. And lowkey so is his creation, BUT his creation is a reflection of the darkest parts of humanity and of Victor. It’s so layered that it’s not that black and white. I love novels and art like that
