I actually think that the chapter about the slaughter house is pretty well written and feels very real. I’m happy I cannot see images in my mind clearly for the first time reading a book.

NGL I think I would have DNF’d if I weren’t trying for the sparkly summer readalong badge. Some parts interest me but I haven’t really been invested in the book. For those of you that are/did enjoy this book, what are your favorite aspects?

✍️ The writing is not really my cup of tea (yet). I’m already a bit tired of the ”I want to forget / I can’t forget” wording already and I’m 8 pages in. I also feel like the premise of the book would work so much better if it started in media res instead. I don’t get why the character is telling the whole background story right now.. when he is walking around in his house. But!! It’s my preference and maybe I’ll change my mind when I read further.

But my stars so far: ✨I’m intrigued by the premise of the story! I already feel a lot of emotions and im excited to read more. ✨ I already noticed a lot of beautiful (but tragic) political qoutes. ”He used technical words to refer to what is a human but will never be a person, to what is always a product”. <— this could be used to comment so many things right now.
