REALLY like the atmosphere and the culture/behavior all the main and side characters have around music, reading the book’s description it immediately reminded me of Sinners without the vampires (maybe there’s vampires idk I ain’t that far yet). The book just drops you into this amazing city and you can tell it has a rich history. My favorite part so far was when I finished chapter 2, turned the page, and immediately I see in larger print: “N-word, tha FUKK???” 😭 caught me so off guard bro that’s hilarious 😭

Like I told my coworkers when finishing reading this book, there were so many deus ex machinas near the end I’m surprised it’s not a Sci fi novel.
No character buildup just instaswitching, anything that went “wrong” was a very soft wrong, and every single thing that was flawed worked out too perfectly in the end, from plot points to characters. I’m sorry but I never liked too much the hallmark genre, or romances, so the two combined was a double homicide for me. It’s just too hard to suspend my disbelief for this long with these circumstances I’m sorry.
