Beautifully written. I love Mona and every character portrayed in the book. The plot look simple as it should be for a children book, but it is indeed very deeper and contemporary.

It could have been a wonderful fantasy, but the constant inconsistencies, the obvious issues with the world-building and its characters (especially the villains), and many honestly cringe moments really tested my patience. The book entertained me—I never considered dropping it—but as the plot picked up, my desire to read a possible sequel gradually faded. A missed opportunity.
