In this chapter, Laura discusses the lack of safety measures in place for women using their online meta services (in particular, VR platform "Horizon Worlds"). I'm shocked at the lack of care, transparency and victim-blaming tactics by Meta (aka Lizard Man Mark). Am I surprised, though? Of course not! Did we collectively forget Facebook was originally called "Facemash" and was designed to evaluate the attractiveness of female Harvard students? It was built on the foundations of harassment and misogyny.
