Hello all! I took French for 15 years and Iâm totally fluent especially when it comes to listening, but Iâve lost the habit of speaking and reading proper literature outside of colloquial speak so I really want to get back into it. My fear is to lose it! I own a lot of classic âadultâ French literature (Madame bovary, the stranger, Cyrano, nana, suite francaise, etc) but I want to ease my way into the language so Iâm looking for suggestions on your fave middle grade or late teen French books (even if you read it in English no problem, Iâll look for a copy in the original French).
I also have A Winterâs Promise which I did enjoy when I started it, but it is kind of long and Iâm intimidated đ thank you so much in advance!!!
(Also, I know itâs not books related but as an aside, if you have any fave French teen-audience tv shows or movies, Iâd love recs for that too)

I've noticed that a lot of people on this app seem to have three books at a time listed as "currently reading," which is interesting to me. Especially because these books often (but not always) look to be in similar genres. For me personally, I tend to only have one or two books being read, and usually, one is an audiobook while the other one is print (well, digital print). I might occasionally have a third book in progress if it's a completely different genre, but I can't imagine keeping five at the same time. I also feel like I'm more willing to "pause" or "DNF" books if I"m not engaged, rather than keeping them open for long periods of time. But I'm curious how others feel. How many books do you read at a time, and why does that work for you?
