This is a reminder that Valentine's Day is a celebration of all the types of love and that a romantic relationship is not the end goal of love or life! Tell your friends that you love them! Tell your parents that you love them! Tell your bus driver that you love them! Tell your community that you love them! In these times of genocidal maniacs, pedophilic leaders and economic uncertainties, remember to fight with love in your heart and prioritize your community and your friends! In the words of bell hooks: ''Love is an action, never simply a feeling.'' So remember to cultivate your hope and your love for others by taking action! Much love to everyone. Stay safe, stay strong and stay loving. šŖš„°ā¤ļø

So Iāve been wanting to read the powerless series, but recently Iāve seen that itās apparently a knock off of the Red Queen series. Is that true? And if so, which series should I read instead?

I read books last week I really enjoyed (zoomed through two books in a series in two days). Now I'm in a slump BC I read three books and none of them lived up to the hype I wanted them to.
How do you define a reading slump?
What's a book you have found got you out of a reading slump?
I'm looking forward to feeling so excited to pick up a book I can't wait to finish my tasks and read.

It's almost the weekend again. Any fun (including non-bookish) plans? Are you hoping to finish a specific book or start one? š
I'm going to spend time with family and friends throughout the weekend. Going out to dinner on Sunday. I'm also hoping to finish The Ballad of Perilious Graves for the Mardi Gras challenge āØ

What sort of adaptation would you like to see a book get? TV? Movie? Graphic novel? Game? Audioplay? It doesn't have to be your favourite book; it can be your current read or just one you see potential in the plot or setting of.
My picks. I can see potential for a video game in The Sirens by Emilia Hart. With the switching perspectives, time shifts and compelling plot, it could do very well. I think there is huge potential in 100 Places to See After You Die by Ken Jennings for a multi-illustrator graphic novel collection, possibly a charity work.
Happy reading, and thanks for answering my chaos questions.

Since last year, I've been reading more nonfiction books, especially memoirs. I don't know why, but they are very appealing to me, perhaps because they give me the chance to dive into the life of someone I admire or someone who has been through similar situations as me.
And you, why do you like memoirs?

I was just looking through a magazine when I saw an ad for a bookplate stamp. Very fancy looking with an ornate design and a place to sign your name. My whole body cringed up. I could not even imagine ever doing that to my books. Stamping them or putting a sticker bookplate in (unless the sticker is signed by the author). Defacing my book in anyway hurts my brain to even think about. Even when I read my books I try really hard not to break the spine. I know this is a me thing (although I suspect that it is a you thing for quite a few people).
Does anyone stamp or put bookplates in their books? Is there a particular reason that makes you do this?
Does anyone else have a book thing that makes them cringe when you see other people do it?
Just so everyone is clearā¦.I am not judging. This really is a me thing. People can do whatever they want to their books. I am just curious. Bookstamps wouldnāt exist if people were not buying them. So I know that probably quite a few people love to do this.

Ok so I just had to book ideas. Horror to be specific in case you donāt like that, so 1. To keep the population even every time someoneās born they š someone. (Maybe could have like some secret baby idk) and 2. (I was inspired by build a bear Iām so sorry) they prepare human bodyās/skin or whatever and stuff them with innards (is that how you spell that? Not my strong suit hehe) to keep creating humans

Basically what the title says - when where you directly inspired to do something because you read about it in a book (e.g. getting a specific pastry or trying archery etc.)? I was reading Atmosphere by TJR and when the MC talked about rearranging glowy stars I impulsively bought some and then stuck a lot of them to the walls and I love it so much so I was wondering if y'all had a similar experience :)
(Edit: typo in the title was driving me crazy)
